FAQs
What does the enrollment fee cover?
Enrollment provides access to the learning management platform at each level, which will support organizing your material and workshops and guide you in what steps are next along your path. We will also list you in our directory of successful completers.
What are the other costs?
Each level has training workshops that are fee based and provide CEs. Many of these workshop include CEs for Play Therapy, EMDRIA and various states and professions.
How is this different from being an EMDRIA Certified Therapist?
EMDRIA (EMDR International Association) offers certification for people who meet
their criteria for training and supervised practice. Many of these activities will also count towards the EMDRIA certification process, and all consultation is provided by EMDRIA-approved consultants or consultants-in-training. This pathway is meant to exceed EMDRIA standards and designate you as an advanced provider of EMDR who can integrate EMDR playfully and innovate with play therapy, family therapy, dissociation theory and somatic strategies to reach the children and youth who are hardest to treat.
How long will each level take? Are there time limits?
We’ve designed this to accommodate busy people working at their own pace and taking the time to integrate the learning in their own caseloads. You will be able to work through the requirements at a comfortable pace. Some of the live training events at the Advanced and Master level are offered only periodically. If you are in the credentialing pathway you will have early access to registering for these events.
What is possible for international participants?
Around the world there are a number of organizations such as EMDR Europe, EMDRAA, etc. who set local EMDR standards. The Playful EMDR pathway is separate from those accreditations. If you are interested in enrolling with a background other than from an EMDRIA-Approved Basic EMDR Training, please email credentialing@playfulemdr.com
